| ARE YOU ON THE RIGHT ROAD? | Other/Past Devotionals | (Colossians 1:9-12), For the reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God: strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience: joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.
Paul's prayer for the Colossians identifies several key things that are necessary for one to be on the right road! First, one must know and understand what God's will is for his life! In order to attain that knowledge, one must be filled with all spiritual wisdom and understanding! You might ask, How is that attained? It is only possible if the Holy Spirit lives in you! This is necessary in order to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord and to please Him in all areas!
God desires for His children to bear fruit in every good work! One bears fruit when he shares the love and grace of Jesus with others who have never experienced it! Do you leave the people with whom you come in contact better off spiritually? Are you planting spiritual seeds, or watering them, or tending the spiritual crops? Are you growing spiritually in the knowledge of God on a daily basis? Is there power revealed in your life through faith? Do you believe that God can and will do anything except fail?
God requires patience and steadfastness in life! True spiritual blessings come most often after periods of trials and tests! Are you willing to wait on God for the fulfillment of His promises to you? Even in difficult times, do you joyously give thanks to God for all that He has done? We should praise Him and glorify Him at all times! He wants us to be a light in a dark world to reach those who have wandered off down the wrong road! He wants us to show love to those who are filled with hate and to gain a listening ear to their souls! He wants us to encourage the weak and to share joy and peace with those who feel that they are without hope! We are to be gentle, loving, and compassionate to all people! Let God's will be your will so that you are a Kingdom builder and a blessing to all mankind!
If you have never truly received and welcomed Jesus Christ into your heart and experienced the new spiritual birth, you can do so right now by sincerely praying the following prayer.
Jesus, I know that You are the Son of God, the Savior of the world, and the Open Door to heaven and to life hereafter. I know that You lived a perfect life here on earth and then willingly gave up that perfect life on the cross at Calvary, so that I might have eternal life in heaven. I believe that, after three days in the tomb, You arose from the dead. I believe that You are now in heaven, seated at the right hand of God the Father, waiting for me to join You there after my physical death. I confess that I am a sinner and that I am in need of Your forgiveness. I want to turn away from sin. I now ask You to forgive me of my sins. I believe in my heart and I now confess with my mouth these things, and I ask You to come into my heart and into my life and be my Lord and my Savior. I will trust You, live for You, and follow You for the rest of my life. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.
If you prayed this prayer and believed it in your heart, find a Bible-teaching church where you can grow spiritually. Your most fulfilling days are ahead including life hereafter with Jesus and all of the saints in heaven. May God bless you in all of your endeavors. We would like for you to call the following toll-free number and tell us about your life-changing experience, so that we can rejoice with you!
